Every story has its beginning

A spark of the imagination, an idea not quite fully formed, a thought spoken aloud – that’s where Stonehouse Publishing traces its beginnings. To the porch of Pat’s fieldstone lake house, one lazy afternoon, as two golf buddies daydreamed about a life that would take them to the world’s top destinations and championship courses.

But unlike the dream that ends on the flight home, Patrick Drickey and Dave Bradley turned wishful thinking into a plan. And from that single moment in time, created a company that celebrated a love of golf that’s as universal and pervasive as the game itself – Stonehouse Publishing.

Relying on the mastery of photographer Patrick Drickey and the insight of Dave Bradley, the pair focused on their first project – Broadmoor East No. 18. Spending countless hours to capture the best light, the signature features of the hole and the challenges faced by the golfer, the image became the USGA’s official image for the 50th US Women’s Open.

Just as carefully considered was the quality of the prints themselves. Each is flawlessly reproduced utilizing the fine art Gicleé printing process, in combination with high-resolution technology, archival inks and fine art watercolor papers. The result is the signature Stonehouse print, noted for rich color saturation and dramatic effect that is truly remarkable.

The rest, as they say, is history. Since then, Drickey has captured the imaginations of golfers the world over with spectacular panoramic imagery of the world’s most famous courses and distinguished holes, as well as golf’s most celebrated personalities. Its collections include images that are like no other.  Because they are taken from the perspective of the golfer, down to the smallest detail.

As for the ending to our story, it hasn’t been written. Because like our images, we hope it will transcend the generations, just as timelessly as the game of golf itself.
