Belfry Brabazon

The Brabazon Course at the Belfry is a venue familiar to anyone who follows the Ryder Cup; it has hosted the matches four times – more than any other course. Often referred to as an “American course in England” because of its parkland layout and target orientation, the course has undergone extensive remodeling since it opened for play in 1977, but its signature hole, the 10th, remains the dramatic showcase of golf at the Belfry. In the 1978 Hennessey Cup, Seve Ballesteros drove the 310-yard, par-4 hole over water to end up eight feet from the cup, and the legend of the Belfry experience was born.
