Boulders
There’s desert golf, and then there’s the Boulders, rated the #1 Golf Resort in the Southwest by Golf and Leisure magazine in 2006 and 2007. In the early 80’s Jay Morrish designed two courses for the famed resort, each featuring visually spectacular holes set amid boulder formations in the Sonoran Desert foothills. As challenging as they are beautiful, the Boulders courses observe a unique “rule”: A player is allowed to replay a shot without penalty should one of the desert’s ubiquitous coyotes scamper on course to steal the ball. Special place, special rules.
