East Lake

It is the oldest golf course in Atlanta, first opened for play in 1906. More important, it was Bobby Jones’s home course. Over the years, East Lake has hosted 17 major championship tournaments, including the 1950 U.S. Women’s Amateur, the 1960 Ryder Cup matches, and the 2001 Men’s Amateur, and it is the permanent home of the PGA Tour Championship. Players always remember East Lake for the 168-yard, par-3 sixth hole, here beautifully captured in two different Stonehouse panoramic images. The diagonally-angled, undulating putting surface is considered one of the country’s first island greens.
