Harbour Town
With the famous red-and-white lighthouse behind the eighteenth green, could we be anywhere else but Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head? The home of the Verizon Heritage golf tournament is as challenging a course as you’re likely to find in South Carolina, which is one reason it sees as many as 38,000 rounds played during the year. From the eighteenth tee players take aim at the lighthouse, but are then invited to a test of fortitude and skill hitting over Calibogue Sound on their second shot. Tradition dictates that boats on the sound blow their horns when the Verizon Heritage winner is crowned.
