Torrey Pines South
Torrey Pines has long been recognized as one of the nation's premier municipal golf facilities. Often referred to as a "golfer's paradise", Torrey’s North and South courses are bounded by mountains to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The course takes its name from the Torrey Pine which is native to the area and to Santa Rosa Island. The tree is distinguished by its clusters of five pine needles. Annual host of the PGA Tour's Buick Invitational, Torrey Pines was renovated and lengthened in 2001 by Rees Jones in preparation for the 2008 U.S. Open.
