Hole Description
Golf traditionalists are always pleased to play Applebrook because designer Gilbert Hanse kept the natural character and integrity of the site in mind while fashioning this 6800-yard layout. His unique, “hands-on” minimalist design approach even put him in the driver’s seat of a bulldozer during the construction process. “You can start with a concept, start shaping and pushing dirt, and if something doesn’t look right you can change your vision,” he said. “If you limit yourself to the drawing board, you are limiting your possibility for a more creative process.” The result? A variety of terrain and hole directions, and, as you can see in this Stonehouse image, beautiful scenery all around.
