Hole Description
Large greens offering run-up or high-approach options is one of the more obvious characteristics of this Nicklaus-designed course, and the links-style fairways help rank the Apache among the more playable of the six Desert Mountain courses. But it’s a mistake to underestimate the Apache’s ability to frustrate the unobservant player; uneven lies and surrounding desert terrain can produce second-guess shot strategies that spell disaster on a scorecard. Fortunately, the Apache’s visual appeal is more than sufficient compensation, as this Stonehouse image clearly demonstrates.
