Hole Description
New Jersey’s oldest country club has entertained its share of notables over the years, including Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, William Howard Taft, Harry Vardon, Frances Ouimet, Bobby Jones and Sam Snead. Established in 1887, it was among the country’s first 100 golf clubs, designed originally by A. W. Tillinghast, with revisions made in 1925 by architects Seth Raynor and Charles Banks. Trees, water and undulating terrain characterize its mountaintop layout, which has hosted many New Jersey Amateur and Open tournaments since 1910, and still offers what many experts regard as one of the top back nine stretches in the country.
