Hole Description
The par-3 17th hole on the North Course at Firestone exemplifies the play characteristics of the entire course – lots of water, possible crosswinds, and a premium on club selection. Opened in 1929, the North Course was originally designed by Bertie Way, then altered in 1960 by Robert Trent Jones for the 1960 PGA Championship. It has also hosted the 1976 American Golf Classic and the 1994 NEC World Series of Golf, and at 7,060 yards, this par 72 venue was ranked among GOLFWEEK’S “100 Best Modern American Courses” in 1997, a challenging complement to Firestone South’s championship status.
