Hole Description
Glen Abbey has been a Canadian golf icon since it opened in 1976. It was the first course authored by Jack Nicklaus, and it quickly established itself by hosting the Canadian Open in 1977. Since then it has been the Open venue no less than 25 times, in addition to being named the home of the Royal Canadian Golf Association and the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. Undoubtedly its most notable moment came in the 2000 Canadian Open, when Tiger Woods hit a six-iron from a fairway bunker on 18 to land about 20 feet from the hole. It was a 218-yard carry over a large pond, and it helped secure Tiger’s victory over Grant Waite… one of the most spectacular shots in PGA history.
