Hole Description
Nearly everything one needs to know about Interlachen’s reputation can be summed up in a list of the tournaments it has hosted over the years: Western Open, 1919; Trans Mississippi, 1916; U.S. Open, 1930; Woman’s Amateur, 1935; U.S. Senior Amateur, 1986; Walker Cup, 1993; Solheim Cup, 2002; U.S. Women’s Open, 2008. Laid out originally in 1910 by William Watson, Interlachen underwent a redesign in 1919 by Donald Ross, with modifications added in 1960 by Robert Trent Jones. A challenging mix of rolling meadows, woods, water and timeless design, Interlachen today ranks among the top courses in the U.S., a distinction beautifully underscored in this Stonehouse panoramic image.
