Hole Description
Built originally as a par-65 executive course, Cougar Point underwent a complete renovation to championship status by Gary Player in 1996. The result is a pleasing blend of long and short par-4s, strenuous par-5s and challenging par-3s. On the outward nine several holes play along the Kiawah River, a scenic waterway that offers players long, unobstructed marshland views. Variety is one of the course’s key attractions, requiring players to think right, left or straight depending on bunker placement and directional changes in hole layout. At Cougar Point there’s no such thing as prevalent routing, which makes this course attractive to players at all levels of the game.
