Hole Description
Since opening in Spring, 2006, the Club at Olde Stone has earned attention for its Arthur Hills-design; here, trees, hills, water and flatlands have been artfully combined with 50 white sand bunkers to create the course Golfweek ranked as 14th on its list of the top 50 courses to open since 2004. But experts say the secret to Olde Stone’s success is its bentgrass turf. Normally difficult to maintain in Kentucky’s hot climate, Olde Stone’s turf has special subsurface drainage – 10 inches of sand – to draw off the moisture that can damage bentgrass in hot summer months. The result? A healthy, “putting green” surface on fairways, tees and greens, special enough to attract the 2008 Jr. Ryder Cup Tournament.
