Hole Description
The fact that Olympia Fields North hosted the 2003 U.S. Open tells you almost everything you need to know about its Midwestern roots: lots of trees, tall rough, deep bunkers and large, sloping greens. It’s also no surprise that the course’s resumé includes two U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, five Western Opens, and a U.S. Senior Open. The beautiful park-like setting belies the North’s stringent rules of engagement; there are no rewards for sloppy play. There is, however, considerable enjoyment to be garnered from the vision of course designers Willie Park Jr. and Tom Bendelow, as witnessed in these Stonehouse images.
