Hole Description
When the Duke of Roxburghe decided he wanted to build a world-class golf course, he chose a near-perfect setting – his own 50,000-acre estate in the Borders region of Scotland, just south of Edinburgh. Working with architect Dave Thomas, he fashioned a tour de force venue that ranked quickly among the Top 100 Courses in Great Britain. The signature hole, the par-5 14th, epitomizes both the beauty and the challenge that confront Roxburghe players from start to finish – an elevated tee to undulating, well-bunkered fairway, hugged by the River Teviot all the way in to a bullet-quick, sloping green. A stunning visual achievement, captured in this Stonehouse panoramic print.
