Hole Description
Collaboration between course designer Rees Jones and the landscape architects at Wimmer Yamada and Caughey has produced one of the San Diego area’s truly unique, scenic venues. A long 7,112 yards from the tips, Santaluz is a hilltop course that blends broad vistas with a “minimalist” approach to planting to give the player a very real sense of the native environment on the course; an environment in which berms, elevated tees, bunkers and sculpted pockets supply a test for all players, regardless of skill. In the words of Rees Jones, at Santaluz the golfer finds, “… an environment for the game of golf that is fair, challenging, and aesthetically pleasing.”
