Hole Description
According to course designer and Sea Island touring pro Davis Love III, the 14,000 square-foot green he created on Retreat No. 6 proves he has a sense of humor. Evidently many of the Sea Island regulars share his view, because the Retreat is one of the resort’s most-recommended courses. Formerly known as the St. Simons Island Club, the original Joe Lee design was purchased by Sea Island, and in 2000, Davis and his brother Mark were commissioned to retool the layout. The course reopened in 2001, a 7100-yard, low-country charmer decked out with new turf, new bunkers and greens, and added length. Heading to Sea Island for the first time?
