Hole Description
The red wicker baskets atop pins are the first things players notice when stepping on the Seaside Course. The second thing is a sudden clench of the stomach muscles when they realize how small the greens are, and how many carries over the low-country marsh they’ll have to make. This course, originally designed by Harry S. Colt and Carles Alison in 1929 and updated in 1999 by Tom Fazio, is no creampuff. It’s a routing masterpiece… a blend of dunes, marsh, trees and wind that requires as much “feel” as anything else from players. As unpredictable as it is beautiful, the Seaside is considered by many to be the crown jewel of Sea Island courses.
